The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is scheduled to be held on February 23, 2014.

Hundreds of thousand candidates, eligible all over India, are anticipated to appear in the AFCAT-2014 scheduled to be conducted on 23.02.2104.

February – 2014 AFCAT Answer Key, Cut off Marks & Result:

The Ministry of Defence, Air Force has neither released the AFCAT – 2014 Answer Keys nor intimated the Cut off Marks for the Air Force Common Admission Test scheduled to be conducted on February 23, 2014. However, the Cut off marks for AFCAT 2012 was between 143 – 144 marks out of 300 marks for the candidates. The Cut off for AFCAT – 2013 was also close to the same.  The Cut off for the previous AFCAT Examination was 116 (AFCAT 2-2013).

The result for AFCAT – 2014 shall be announced within months following the conduct of the AFCAT – 2014.

AFCAT – 2014 Examination Pattern:

The AFCAT paper, which is an Objective Type Test, shall consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. AFCAT – 2014, has been accorded a maximum of 300 Marks. Each correct answer shall carry THREE (03) marks.  There will be a deduction of ONE (01) Mark. The questions printed in the AFCAT – 2014 Question Paper shall be chosen from the Current Affairs, General Knowledge, and Mathematics of High School Level, Reasoning and English. The AFCAT – 2014 shall be of TWO (02) hours’ duration.

Procedure for Selection:

All such candidates whose Applications might have been submitted by 12.01.2014, shall be summoned for Air Force Common Admission Test- 2014 scheduled to be held on February 23, 2014. Candidates will be required to login to their candidates login account regularly for information on AFCAT and AFSB testing.

The Entrance Test will be of two hours duration and will contain Multiple Choice Questions on Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and Military Aptitude.

Candidates short-listed on the basis of (AFCAT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi. The AFCAT-2014 would consist of three stages as given below.

Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing.

All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.

Stage-II Testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Four Days).

For Flying Branch: Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) would be administered to eligible candidates

Change of Interview Dates: Request for change of SSB interview date should be avoided. However, as an exception, such change may be considered based on the circumstances of the case. Request for such change should be forwarded to the respective AFSB from where the call letter for SSB interview has been received and not to Air Headquarters / AFCAT Cell. The AFSBs may consider change of date at their discretion.

Medical Examination will be conducted at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM Bengaluru based on the recommendations at AFSB.12. Candidates recommended by the AFSBs and declared medically fit will be detailed for training in the order of all India Merit list depending on the number of vacancies available in various branches/ sub branches. Grant of PC / SSC in Technical and Ground Duty Branches would be based on number of vacancies, performance in the selection process and the choice given by the candidate / Airmen.

10% of the vacancies are reserved for NCC Air Wing ‘C’ certificate holders

Onus of meeting eligibility criteria rests with the applicant. Merely undergoing / SSB testing would not constitute fulfillment of eligibility requirements.

Intake of Candidates for different  Branches:

The candidates shortlisted and finally selected shall be commissioned in the following Branches:

Flying Branch – 15 SSC Course

Technical Branch – 86 AEC / 58 SSC Courses

Ground Duty Branches – 137 GDOC / 30 SSC Courses
