The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) notified Recruitment Notice in respect of the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2016 (CGS & GE) 2016 scheduled for the 13th / 14th and 15th of May 2016 (03 Days), we have the details for the candidates craving to seek their career into this domain.

The Union Public Service Commission shall conduct for Three (03) successive days; i.e., on the 13th, 14th and 15th of May 2016 the All India Online Written Examination for the candidates in various parts of India.

Online Registration shall commence on the 6th of February 2016 (06.02.2016).

The Deadline of Online Registration by the Candidates closed on the 4th of March 2016 (04.03.2016).

e-Admit Cards / Hall Tickets:

The Union Public Service Commission shall upload on the UPSC Website the Admittance Cards / Hall Exam Tickets Two Weeks Prior To The Commencement of the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination (CGS&GE) 2016 for the Candidates.

Age Limit (As On 01.08.2016):

A Candidate should have completed Minimum 21 Years but must not exceed Maximum 30 as on 01.08.2016, (implying the Candidate born either earlier than the 2nd of August 1986 or later than the 1st of August, 1995, are eligible to apply. The Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories seeking Relaxation in Upper Age Limit are advised to carefully read the detailed Notification likely to be issued in January 2016.

(a) For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) in the Geological Survey of India (GSI), an attached Office of Ministry of Mines, Government of India: A candidate should have attained the age of 21 Years but must not have attained the age of 32 Years on the 1st day of the month of January of the year in which the Examination is to be held [i.e., as on the 1st January, 2016] i.e. he / she must have been born neither earlier than the 2nd of January, 1984 nor later than the 1st of January 1995.
02. Category II: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources)Junior Hydro-Geologists (Scientist B), Group A

 

(b) For Junior Hydro-Geologist Scientist B (Group A) in Central Ground Water Board, Minister of Water Resources, the candidate should have attained the age of 21 Years but must not have attained the age of 35 Years on the 1st January 2016, i.e., he / she must have been born neither earlier than the 2nd of January, 1981 nor later than the 1st of January 1995.

Selection Criteria:

The Result of the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2016 consisting of Two Parts; i.e., Part I & Part II.  Part I comprising Conventional Type shall have the following Subjects.  Part II comprising Interview / Personality Test carries 200 Marks.

Final Selection of the Candidates shall based on the All India Merit List drawn up on the basis of the Sufficient High Marks secured both in Part I consisting of the Written Test and Part II having Personal Interview / Personality Test.

Scheme of the Online Written Examination:

The Union Public Service Commission would conduct the Conventional Type of Written Examination, for selection to the post of Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist Group ‘A’ in GSI and Junior Hydro-Geologist (Scientist ‘B’), Group ‘A’ under Central Ground Water Board.

The Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination (CGSGE) 2016 shall be of Descriptive Type as detailed hereunder:

Application Fee:

The Candidates (excepting Female / SC/ST / PH Candidates are exempted from payment of the Fee) have to pay a Fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) either in cash (by depositing the money) at any Branch of the State Bank of India by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India / State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala / State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card.
