NIFT 2015 Notification,Application Form,Exam Dates,Syllabus:

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is likely to release by September end, 2014, its official Notification for admission in various Bachelor and Post Graduate Programs for the Academic Session – 2015 at National Institute of Fashion Technology.

The Online Registration for different Bachelor and PG Programs, based on the previous year is expected to continue up to the end of the Third week of January, 2015.

NIFT Notification 2015

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall conduct a Written Test comprising the Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions to be held through Paper based Test and Computer based Test in February 2015.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology notified NIFT Entrance Test – 2015 consisting of 150 Multiple Choice Questions each for Bachelor of Design, Master of Design with 120 Minutes duration shall be held through Paper based Test.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology notified NIFT Entrance Test – 2015 consisting of 150 Multiple Choice Questions each for Bachelor of Technology (B.F.Tech.), Master of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.) and Master of Fashion Management (MFM) with 180 Minutes’ duration.

There shall be Negative Marking of ¼th or 0.25% for Wrong Answers submitted by the candidates.

Admit Cards / Hall Tickets for NIFT Entrance Test-2015

National Institute of Fashion Technology would generate on its Website the e-Admit Cards / Hall Examination Tickets for the candidates, at least, two weeks prior to conducting the NIFT Entrance Examination – 2015 scheduled to be held in the February.

We would bring quicker update in regard to downloading of the Admit Cards / Hall Exam Ticket to intimate the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Test – 2015 aspiring candidates.  We would display on http://examcrack.in/  the information for the candidates.

NIFT Entrance Examination Center:

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall conduct the Entrance Examination through Paper based Test and Computer based Test modes at various Examination Centers in different States and Union Territories across India. The candidates are advised to visit the National Institute of Fashion Technology Website to check out the NIFT Entrance Test venues for Paper based Tests (I & II) and Computer based Test III.

NIFT Entrance Test, 2015 Result:

The candidates declared successful in the Written Part of Online Test by National Institute of Fashion Technology would be called for participating in the Situation Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview in April / May 2015.

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall announce in May / June 2015 through Online the Final Results of the candidates.

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall prepare a combined Final Merit List of the candidates on the bases of their performance and Marks obtained by them in GAT / CAT & GD / PI.

NIFT Entrance Test, 2015 Stages Qualifying Criteria:

Online Counseling:

National Institute of Fashion Technology would hold Online Counseling for the candidates shortlisted and declared success on higher Marks on Merit.  The Online Counseling shall be organized by National Institute of Fashion Technology to enable the candidates to seek admission in various UG / Bachelor & Post Graduate Programs in different streams at NIFT.

 National Institute of Fashion Technology shall display on its Website the NIFT Entrance Test Results, 2015.

On the basis of Result of Written Test GAT and CAT, B.Des candidates shall be called for the second test, i.e., Situation Test.

For B.F.Tech., GAT will be the Final Test for selection.

The candidates for M.Des will have to take GAT and CAT. On the bases of Results of GAT and CAT, in case of M.Des. and GAT in case of M.F. Tech. and MFM, candidates will be called for Group Discussion / Personal Interview.

Weight age:

The weight age assigned to each test in the final merit list of the entrance examination will be as under:

Description of Components of NIFT Entrance Examination, 2015:

General Ability Test (GAT) for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Master of Design (M.Des.), the Online Test comprising 150 Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions shall be of Two Hours Duration for various sections as given below:

4) Analytical Ability

5) General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Situation Test:

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall call the shortlisted candidates opting for B.Des. Program and make them to undergo for the Situation Test

No additional material will be provided / allowed.

Model will be evaluated on Space Visualization, Innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, Color scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc.

The parameters will be checked with the write up explaining the concept / idea behind the model constructed. The weight age of the write up is 30%. Since the medium of teaching in NIFT is English, the write-up will be in English language. No marks will be given for write-up in any other language.

Group Discussion:

The candidates shortlisted by National Institute of Fashion Technology for Masters Programs from the Written Entrance Examination would be put to undergo Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Group Discussion would comprise of approximately 15 to 20 minutes of discussion on a case study assigned, on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on the following parameters:

1) Conceptual clarity

2) Knowledge of the topic assigned

3) Contribution made to the topic

4) Interpersonal skills

5) Ability to generate new ideas

6) Problem solving Approach

7) Leadership qualities

8) Effective communication

Personal Interview:

National Institute of Fashion Technology shall judge a candidate is judged on various parameters as listed below by a Panel, in the Personal Interview:

1) Career orientation

2) Aptness for the field

3) Overall personal achievements in academics and co-curricular activities

4) Communication

5) General Awareness And Aptitude, creative and lateral thinking are likely to be useful.

National Institute of Fashion Technology would allot the Center / Program to the candidates on the basis of merit list drawn as per the scores obtained by them.

The candidate may like to appear in as many as SAT-1 / GMAT examination prior to April end 2015. The highest score among the test will be taken into consideration for allotment of seat at Center.

Creative Ability Test (CAT):

This test is administered to judge the intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in development of a concept and design ability of the candidate. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of color and illustration skills.

General Ability Test (GAT) for Bachelor of Technology (B.FTech.), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), Master of Design (M.Des.) and Master of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.). This test will comprise of various section as given below:

1) Quantitative Ability

2) Communication Ability and English Comprehension

3) Analytical and Logical Ability

4) General Knowledge and Current Affairs

5) Case Study

M.F Tech will also have some questions from engineering field.

National Institute of Fashion Technology Examination reserves the right to vary the number of Questions in each section and for each course year to year. The level of difficulty in questions for all courses is also likely to vary.

The candidates shortlisted from the Written Entrance Examination shall have to undergo Situation Test (ST) / Group Discussion (GD) / Personal Interview, as applicable (except B.F.Tech.).

Situation Test:

The candidates shortlisted for B.Des from the Written Entrance Test would have to undergo a Situation Test, which is a hands-on test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials.

No additional material will be provided / allowed.

Model will be evaluated on Space Visualization, Innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc. These parameters will be checked with the write up explaining the concept / idea behind the model constructed. The weight age of the Write up is 30%.

Since the medium of teaching in NIFT is English, the write-up will be in English language. No marks will be given for write-up in any other language.

Group Discussion:

The shortlisted candidates for Masters Programs from the Written Entrance Examination will have to undergo Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Group Discussion would comprise 15 to 20 minutes approximately of discussion on a case study assigned, on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on the following parameters:

Reservation of Seats:

The seats reserved for SC / ST / Differently Abled Candidates (PHP) / Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI, in each Program are as under:

SC 15%

ST 7.5%

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 27%

Differently Abled Person (PHP) 3% Horizontal reservation for Differently Abled Person (with 40% or more disability) cutting across all sections, i.e., General / OBC (NCL) / SC / ST category. Campus and Program to be allotted on rotation shall be at NIFT’s  discretion.

 Foreign Nationals/SAARC/NRI 15% (supernumerary)

State Domiciles 20% (supernumerary)

Category once filled up in the application form will not be changed at any stage.

Application Fee:

For General / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Category: Rs.1200/- through payment gateway or Demand Draft.

Fees for SC/ ST/ PHP Category: Rs.600/- through payment gateway or Demand Draft
