The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had issued their Notification to invite Online Application Form in respect of ‘CHSL 2014’ Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2014 Notice No. FNo15/07/2014 P & P II dated 19.07.2014.

SSC CHSL Online Form 2014

The submission of the Online Application Forms from the candidates commence on 19.07.2014.  The last date for acknowledgment of the Online Application Forms at the Staff Selection Commission through SSC Online Portal is 19.08.2014, at 05:00 PM in regard to the All India Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2014.

The Staff Selection Commission shall on the 2nd and 9th of November 2014 (02.11.2014 & 09.11.2014), an All India Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the Group – ‘C’ posts of Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk.

Closing Date 19.08.2014 (up to 5:00 P.M.).

 Closing Date for the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad is 26.08.2014 (up to 5:00 P.M.).

Examination Fee:

Rupees One Hundred Only (Rs 100.00) payable through CRF stamps for Offline application or SBI Challan or Online payment through SBI payment portal in the case of Online Application Forms.

Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

Age Limit: as on 01.08.2014

18-27 years i.e., (the candidates born not before 02.08.1987 and not later than 01-08-1996.

The candidates are advised to visit the Staff Selection Commission website and look at their Notification for Permissible relaxation of Upper Age Limit as prescribed under Para 4(A).

Educational Qualifications: (As on 01.08.2014)

The candidate must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

CHSL Exam – 2014 Minimum Cut off Marks / Minimum Qualifying Marks:

The Staff Selection Commission has not intimated the Community wise Minimum Cut off Marks for General / OBC / SC / ST / PH / Ex-Servicemen candidates.  The Staff Selection Commission may decide the Minimum Qualifying Marks at the time declaring of the CHSL – 2014 Written Objective Type Examination.

Scheme of Examination:

The CHSL Exam- 2014 will consist of a Written Examination and Skill Test for the post of Data Entry Operator and Written Test and Typing Test for the post of Lower Division Clerk on Computer.

The paper shall consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions only.  The questions shall be both in English and Hindi languages for Part I, III & IV.

There would be Negative Marking of 0.25 Marks for each wrong answer.

The Staff Selection Commission shall place on its website the CHSL 2014 Answer Key after the Written Examination. The Staff Selection Commission expects representation in respect of the SSC DEO and LDC from the candidates within 07 days of uploading of the Answer Key for scrutiny of the objections submitted by the candidates.  But the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operators:

The “Data Entry Speed” Skill Test would be of qualifying nature. The candidates allowed to take this test, will have to qualify the test at the prescribed speed on Computer, to be provided by the Commission or the agency authorized by the Commission to conduct such skill test at the Centre / venue so notified.

Only those candidates, who would secure, at least, the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, as may be fixed by the Staff Selection Commission at its discretion, will be called for skill test.

Provided that candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBC, ExS. and PH may be called for the Skill Test by the Commission by applying relaxed standards, if the Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates of these categories are not likely to be available for the skill test on the basis of qualifying criteria for general category candidates in order to fill up the vacancies 12 reserved for these categories (i.e. SC, ST, PH, ExS. and OBC).

Only such candidates who qualify in the Skill Test at a speed of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour will be eligible for being recommended for appointment as per their position in the merit list.

Typing Test for LDCs:

The Staff Selection Commission shall conduct a Typing Test for those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination. Such Typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for the Examination, will have to indicate his / her choice / option for Skill Test Medium in the Application Form.

The Typing Test will be of qualifying in nature. It will be administered on the Computer, to be provided by the Commission or any agency authorized by the Commission.

Mode of Selection:

The candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. The candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Written Objective Type Examination.

Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position 14 and the option exercised by them. 

CHSL 2014 e-Admit Cards / Hall Tickets:

The Staff Selection Commission shall generate the CHSL 2014 Admit Cards / Hall Examination Tickets for the candidates two weeks prior to the commencement of the Date of the conduct of the Written Object Type Examination.
