The University of Allahabad conducts Admission Tests for admission in various courses offered at the University.  In 2013, the University of Allahabad held the Admission Tests as follows:   

M.Sc. Food Technology, M.Sc. Nutritional Sciences:

The admission to the aforestated Programs is done on the basis of Entrance Test followed by subsequent interview, which has to be faced by all the candidates.

The Written Test and Interview carries 150 marks and 100 marks respectively. The final result is prepared out of total 250 marks.

The Written Test comprising 150 Multiple Choice Questions is of Two (02) hours duration. The question paper is divided into three sections, Section A (General Awareness) and Section B (Chemistry) having 50 questions, each is compulsory for all the candidates, whereas, the candidates are required to attempt any one of the following subject groups from Section C having 50 questions from Five (05) Group; i.e., (i) Biology Group, (ii) Mathematics Group, (iii) Food and Dairy Technology Group (iv) Agriculture Group and (v) Home Science Group

BA in Fashion Design & Technology:

BA in Fashion Design & Technology consists of 2 Programs as follows:

2-Yr Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design & Technology

2-Yr Diploma in Computer Aided Fashion Design

Admission to the above stated Courses involves the Entrance Test:

Admission to the aforestated Programs is done on the basis of Entrance Test and subsequent interview, which is required to be faced by all the candidates.

The Written Test and interview carries 200 marks and 100 marks respectively. The final result shall be prepared out of total 300 marks.

The Written Test of TWO (02) hours duration contains two sections, i.e., Section (I) and Section (II). The 1st Section comprises 100 Multiple Choice Questions on Fashion Awareness, General Awareness, information Technology etc.The 2nd Section consists of Drawing and Sketching. The Applicants are required to bring Color Pencil Set along with HB Pencil for drawing and sketching.

P.G. Diploma in Photo Journalism & Visual Communication:

P.G. Diploma in Photo Journalism & Visual Communication necessitates the following for admission in the Program.

Admission to the aforestated Program is done on the basis of Entrance Test followed subsequent Interview, which has to be faced by all the candidates.

A maximum of 300 marks is determined for the Entrance Examination; i.e., the Written Test is of 200 marks and the interview would carry 100 marks. The final result shall be prepared out of total 300 marks.

The Written Test is of TWO (02) hours duration contains (i) 100 Multiple Choice Questions chosen from General Awareness, Media, Photography, Information Technology etc.; and (ii) questions of Descriptive type.

B.A. in Media Studies:

Guidelines for Entrance Test:

Admission will be done on the basis of Entrance Test and subsequent interview, which has to be faced by all the candidates.

The written test of 200 marks and the interview shall carry 100 marks. The final result shall be prepared out of total 300 marks.

The Written Test will be of TWO hours duration containing (i) 100 Multiple Choice Questions  on  General Awareness,  media,  photography,  Information  Technology  etc.;  and (ii)  questions  of  Descriptive type.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA):

Admission to Master of Computer Applications necessitates the Entrance Test.  The Entrance Test is followed by subsequent interview of the short-listed candidates.

The Entrance Examination for admission to the MCA Course consists of a Written Test of 150 Marks.

The interview is given the weight age of 100 marks.

The final result shall be prepared out of total 250 marks (Entrance Test 150 Marks + Interview 100 Marks).

There Entrance Test consists of ONE (01) paper, which contains 150 Objective Type Questions / Short Answer Type Questions is of three hours. The paper contains 70 questions from Mathematics, 40 questions from Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Science, 20 questions from Computer Awareness and 20 questions from General English.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA):

Admission to BCA is done on the bases of the following guidelines for the Entrance Test

BCA Admissions is done on the basis of Entrance Test and subsequent interview of short-listed candidates.

The Entrance Test consisting of Written Test and subsequent Interview is allocated 250 marks. The entrance examination for admission to the BCA Course consists of a Written Test of 150 Marks allocated to the Multiple Choice Questions.

The interview carries 100 marks.

The final result shall be prepared out of total 250 marks.

There shall be one paper of three hours, comprising of 150 objective/short answer type questions. The paper shall have 70 questions from Mathematics, 40 questions from Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Science, 20 questions from Computer Awareness and 20 questions from General English.

PG Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA):

Admission to PGDCA also necessitates an Entrance Test and Interview.  The Entrance Test carries a maximum of 150 marks and Interview carries 100 Marks.

Admission is done on the basis of Entrance Test and subsequent interview.

The Test paper is of 180 minutes duration carries a total of 150 marks and the interview carries 100 marks. The final result is prepared out of total 250 marks.

The paper contains 150 objective / short answer type questions.

The paper comprises Multiple Choice Questions chosen from Computer Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness.

MBA:

Admission to MBA consists of Written Test and Oral Test.

Written Test  carries a maximum of 600 Marks  consisting of 4 Sections; viz., Communication Ability in English, Aptitude & Reasoning, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude each carrying 150 Marks.

The Written Test is of 3 Hours duration.

There is Negative Marking for the wrong answer. One wrong answer attracts 1 mark.

Oral Test is allocated 100 Marks, which comprises Group Leadership and Personal Interview each carrying 50 Marks.

MBA (RD):

Admission to MBA (RD) consists of Written Test and Oral Test.

Written Test carrying a total of 800 Marks comprises 4 Sections; viz., Communication Ability in English, Aptitude & Reasoning, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude, each carrying 200 Marks.

The Written Test is of 3 Hours duration.

There is Negative Marking for the wrong answer. One wrong answer attracts 1 Mark.

Oral Test is allocated 200 Marks, which comprises Group Leadership and Personal Interview each carrying 100 Marks.

UGAT:

Information not available in the Admission Notification.

LL.M Admission Test:

Admission to LLM mandates an Admission Test comprising Three Parts of 300 marks. Each Part carries 100 marks of Three Hours duration.

The paper of Admission Test shall comprise

(i) Constitutional Law of India, (ii) Jurisprudence, (iii) Law of Contract, (iv) Indian Penal Contact, (v) Law of Torts, (vi) Hindu Law, (vii) Muslim Law, (viii) Public International Law and Human Right, (ix) Administrative Law, (x) Transfer of Property Act.

Part ‘A’ of Test Booklet consists of 50 Objective Type Test Multiple Choice Questions.  Part ‘B’ consists of 08 short Answer type questions, out of which 04 are to be answered in about 200 words each; Part ‘C’ consists of 04 essay type questions out of which 02 questions are to be answered in about 400 words.

B.Ed. Admission Test:

Admission to Bachelor of Education necessitates an Admission Test consisting of Hindi Language and English Language, General Knowledge & General Mental Ability.

M.Ed. Admission Test:

Admission in Master of Education mandates an Admission Test consisting of Hindi Language and English Language, General Knowledge & General Mental Ability.

The M.Ed. Admission Test shall comprise one Theory Paper of 3 hours duration. It has 20 short answer questions. The maximum limit of words for each answer should not exceed 100 words. The maximum marks for the paper shall be 100.

The questions in the Admission Test is printed on the Answer Booklet and the answers thereto is required to entered in the space or sheet specified for the purpose in the answer booklet itself.

The syllabus for the M.Ed. Admission Test consists of the Syllabi prescribed for the core Courses for B.Ed. Examination of the University.

LL.B. Three Year Course:

Admission in Bachelor of Law (3-Years) mandates the Admission Test.  The Admission Test comprises THREE (03) Papers consisting of TWO (02) Sections as follows:

PAPER-I comprises Language Comprehension

Section I: Hindi Language comprehension,

Section II: English Language.

PAPER-II: General Awareness & Current Affairs

PAPER-III: Reasoning & Mental Ability   

The Law Admission Test (LAT) shall be of 3 hours duration, which includes half-an-hour for verification of the instruction to the candidates. The LAT consists of Three Papers, each carrying 100 marks, as follows:

Valuation Method: The questions to Paper I (Language Comprehension) and Paper II (General Awareness & Current Affairs) are of 1 mark each and for every correct answer candidate shall be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer 1/3 of a mark will be deducted.

The questions to Paper III (Reasoning & Mental Ability) are of 2 marks each. For every correct answer submitted by the candidate is awarded 2 marks and for every wrong answer 2/3 of a mark will be deducted.

PGAT:

PGAT consists of M.A. / M.Com. / M.Sc. / M.Tech.

Admission to PGAT necessitates Entrance Test.  The Entrance Test for admission to M.A / M.Sc. / M.Com courses is held in various cities of India.

The time duration of the PGAT remains invariably of three hours for M.A. and M.Sc. courses (1.30 hours for each subject) and of 1.30 hours for M.Com, M.A / M.Sc. Anthropology. M.Sc. (Bio-Chemistry). M.Sc. (Agricultural Sciences). M. Mus. and M.A. Mass Communication respectively.

The question paper of every subject in M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. etc. In general, the Entrance Test covers the syllabi of B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.

The candidates are presented Short answer type questions to be answered in about 50 words each 3.8.2 Medium answer type questions to be answered in about 150 words each.
