UOH Admissions 2014 Entrance Examinations 2014-15, Hyderabad University:       

In December 2013, the University of Hyderabad (UoH), published its official Notification and uploaded the Prospectus (2014-2015) to invite Online Applications Form from the candidates seeking to build their respective career in different course.

The Online submission of the Applications Forms for admission to various courses at the University of Hyderabad commenced w.e.f. December 04, 2013. The last date for receipt of the Online Applications Form from the candidates was January 03, 2014.  The University of Hyderabad would hold the Entrance Examination for M. Tech and Ph. D. from February 01, 2014 up to the 7th of February, 2014.

UoH Entrance Examination 2014

The University of Hyderabad shall conduct the Entrance Examination for the notified Post Graduate Programs (viz., M.Tech. and Ph.D. Nano Science & Technology) on 06.02.2014.  The Entrance Examination for M.Tech and Ph.D. Materials Engineering shall be organized and rescheduled on 07.02.2014 as well.  The Entrance Examinations for M. Tech and Ph. D. Course shall take place at 10:00 AM – 12:00-Noon.

The University of Hyderabad Examination Centers:

The University of Hyderabad would hold the Entrance Examination for Ph. D. and M. Tech Courses at different venues in 35 cities of India, viz., Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Anantpur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Dimapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kadapa, Karimnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nizamabad, Pune, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Warangal

Downloading of Hall Examination Tickets:

Downloading of Hall Tickets commenced from 20.01.2014. The University of Hyderabad has already activated the Hall Ticket Download Link. The candidates set to participate in the Ph.D. & M. Tech. Entrance Examination, have presumably begun downloading their respective e-Admit Cards / Admission Certificates through the official website of the University of Hyderabad from 20.01.2014. Downloading of the Hall Admission Tickets that commenced from January 20, 2014 shall continue unto the date of Entrance Examination for M. Tech. and Ph. D. courses / Programs.

Dates for Ph.D / M. Tech Entrance Examination:

The Entrance Examination for admission to Ph.D. and Ms Tech shall commence from 01.02.2014 and continue up to 07.02.2014.

The University of Hyderabad shall not hold Written Test for the courses:
1) M.Tech. Computer Science / AI / IT; 2) M.Tech. I.C. Technology; 3) M.Tech. Bioinformatics; 4) Ph.D. Mathematics / Applied Mathematics; 5) Ph.D. Statistics; 6) Ph.D. Electronics Science; 7) Ph.D. Biotechnology; 8) Ph.D. Biochemistry & 9) Ph.D. Medical Sciences. 

Shortlisted candidates for interview / admission counseling will be notified as per the schedule.

University of Hyderabad Entrance Examinations:

The Entrance Examinations for various P.G. Degree Courses (other than those offered by the Sarojini Naidu School and M.Sc. Physics, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, MBA Health Care and Hospital Management, Health Psychology and PG Diploma in Sanskrit Computational Linguistics), I.M.Sc. (5-year Integrated) courses in Sciences and I.M.A. (5-year Integrated) courses in Humanities and Social Sciences will consist of only a written test of 100 marks.

Written Test Pattern

The question paper for the entrance test for all courses (excepting Ph.D. in some subjects – the Chapter on ‘Schools of Study’ further details available in the University of Hyderabad Prospectus) shall consist of two parts – Part-’A’ and Part- ‘B’.

Part ‘A’ of the Question Paper shall necessarily consist of objective type questions preferably of one mark each for a total of 25 marks. The marks obtained by the candidates in Part ‘A’ will be used for resolving tie cases.

All the Schools / Departments / Centers will follow negative marking for Part- ‘A’ of the question paper. There will be negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer.

Those Schools / Departments / Centers, which may set the entire paper as “objective type”, may follow negative marking for Part ‘B’ of the question paper as well.

Third criterion:  The marks obtained in the Degree examination immediately preceding the Qualifying Degree Examination.

Fourth criterion: The marks obtained in the next Lower Public Examination.

University of Hyderabad: Interview schedule:

Interviews for candidates short-listed for admission to M.Phil., M.Tech., and Ph.D. on the basis of written test and those exempted from written test (on the basis of UGC/CSIR JRF, RGNF/MANF, (NBHM, in the case of Ph.D. for Maths, ICMR/ ICAR/DBT Fellowship for Ph.D. in the School of Life Sciences), and ICMR Fellowship for Ph.D. in the School of Social Sciences, Ph.D. Materials Engineering, Nano Science and Technology, Integrated M.Phil / Ph.D. cognitive Science and Integrated M.Sc. / Ph.D. Biotechnology, Physics, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Health Psychology, MBA Health Care and Hospital Management and the courses offered by the S.N. School are tentatively scheduled to be held between May 06 and May 11, 2014, in the respective Schools / Departments / Centers.

We would bring quicker update in this respect for the candidates and upload the information on our web portal www.OnlineExamResult.in for the candidates as soon as the University of Hyderabad notifies the exact dates of the Interview / Practical Test for the short-listed candidates.

Cut off marks in the Entrance Examination:

As per the information published by the University of Hyderabad, the University has decided to not to have any cut off marks in the Entrance Examination, i.e., in the Written Test wherever there is no interview and written test plus interview put together wherever there is an element of interview for admission to any course for any category during the year 2014-15. Wherever the admission is based on written test and interview, the candidates to be called for interview will be about 4 times of the approved intake.

University of Hyderabad Entrance Examination Result Updates:

Advice:

The University of Hyderabad shall upload the results of the Entrance Examination results on http://www.acad.uohyd.ac.in; http://http://www.schools9.com & http://www.indiaresults.com.

No request for extension of time for interview/practical test or for completion of admission will be entertained on account of any reason/s whatsoever.

Lists will be notified at the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Administration Building, University Campus, Hyderabad, and also at the city campus “The Golden Threshold (GT)”, Abids, Nampally Station Road, Hyderabad.

No cut off marks in the Entrance Examination:

The University has decided to not to have any cut off marks in the entrance examination i.e., in the written test wherever there is no interview and written test plus interview put together wherever there is an element of interview for admission to any course for any category during the year 2014-15. Wherever the admission is based on written test and interview, the candidates to be called for interview will be about 4 times of the approved intake.

The classes for all the Courses / Programs at the University of Hyderabad shall commence with effect from 15.7.2014.
