UPSC Civil Services New Exam Pattern of GS & CSAT : High Court
Following the Honorable High Court of Delhi directive issued on the 19th of August, 2014 in respect of extending the Allotted Time for the Visually Impaired candidates to attempt both General Studies Paper – I and General Studies Paper – II (X Series) from the existing 2 Hours 20 Minutes (140 Minutes), the Union Public Service Commission has finally proceeded with acting upon the Honorable
Thus, the Visually Impaired Category Candidates will be allowed an extra time of 40 minutes for Paper I and also an extra time of 40 minutes for Paper II of the Civil Services Preliminary Examination, it said.
UPSC Civil Services New Exam Pattern
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 shall comprise two compulsory papers carrying 200 marks each in the Civil Services (Prelim) Examination. The Visually Impaired candidates were being given Two-Hours-Twenty Minutes to attempt General Studies Paper –II (X series). The candidates with normal eye vision were being allotted TWO (02) Hours time per Paper, which shall continue as statue quo ante.
Paper II carries questions on Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, Decision-Making and Problem-solving, General Mental Ability, Basic Numeracy and English Language Comprehension Skills (of Class X Level). The Department of Personnel and Training has recently issued a notification on the change in the pattern of this year’s Civil Services Preliminary Examination.
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the prestigious Civil Services Examination in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Interview to select the candidates on higher Merit for appointment as IAS, IFS and IPS Officers among others.
