UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologists Notification,Exam Date,Application Form:

Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Exam., 2015 Notification:  

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued its Notification in regard to Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Exam, 2015.

The candidates may be able to commence submitting their respective Application Forms through UPSC Online Portal following the publication of the Advertisement by the Union Public Service Commission.

Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologists Exam 2015

The Union Public Service Commission shall release a formal Notification at least a fortnight before the date of the Online Registration.

The submission of the Application Form through UPSC Online Web Portal shall commence from the 7th of February, 2015.

The last date for acknowledgment of the Application Forms at the Union Public Service Commission is the 6th of March, 2015.UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologists 2015 Notification,Date Application Form

Combined Geo-Scientist Geologists’ Exam., 2015 Schedule:

The Union Public Service Commission shall conduct on May 23, 2015, an All India competitive Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Examination 2015 at various Examination Centers in different cities of India. The said Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologists’ Examination 2015 shall be held in THREE (03) consecutive Days.

Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologists’ Exam., 2015 Structure & Scheme:

The Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Examination – 2015 shall consist of the following Descriptive Test Papers:

  • General English
  • Geology Paper I
  • Geology Paper II
  • Geology Paper III
  • Hydrogeology
  • Geo-Physics Paper I
  • Geo-Physics Paper II
  • Geo-Physics Paper III
  • Chemistry – I
  • Chemistry – II
  • Chemistry – III

All Papers are of Descriptive Test nature with each Paper comprising 

General English containing Six Questions (all need to be attempted). The paper carrying a Maximum of 100 Marks shall be of THREE (03) Hours’ duration.

Geology Paper – I, a Descriptive Type Test, containing Six Questions in TWO Sections; viz., Section-A & Section-B shall be carrying a total of 200 Marks. The said Paper shall be of THREE (03) Hours’ duration.The candidate shall have to attempt all the questions.   

Geology Paper – II, a Descriptive Test Paper will contain Six (06) Questions in TWO Sections; viz., Sections-A & Section-B. This Paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be 03 Hours’ duration. The candidate shall have to attempt all the questions.

Geology Paper – III, a Descriptive Type Test consisting of TWO Sections; viz., Section-A & Section-B shall contain Six (06) Questions in all. The paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be of 03 Hours’ duration.  The candidate shall have to attempt all the questions.

Hydrogeology Paper is also of Descriptive Type containing Six (06) Questions in TWO Sections; viz., Section-A & Section-B.  The Paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be of 03 Hours’ duration.

Geo-Physics Paper – I also of Descriptive nature containing Nine (09) Questions in TWO Sections; viz., Section-A & Section-B shall carry a maximum of 200 Marks.  This paper shall be of THREE (03) Hours’ duration.

Geo-Physics Paper – II shall also be a Descriptive Test containing Eight (08) Questions in TWO Sections; viz., Section-A & Section-B.  The candidate has to attempt only SIX (06) Questions.  This Paper carrying a maximum of 200 marks shall be of 03 Hours’ duration.

Geo-Physics Paper – III shall also be of Descriptive nature.  This Test Paper consisting of THREE Sections; viz., Section-A, Section-B & Section – C shall contain Eleven (11) Questions. The candidate has to attempt Nine Questions out of a total of 11 Questions.  This Paper shall carry a maximum of 200 Marks. The entire duration of this Paper shall be 03 Hours.

Chemistry Paper – I, a Descriptive Test Paper consisting of SIX Sections; viz. Sections – A, B, C, D, E & F shall contain a total of Eleven (11) Questions, The candidate has to attempt Six Questions out of 11 Questions.  This Paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be 03 Hours’ duration.

Chemistry Paper – II also a Descriptive Test Paper consisting of THREE Sections Sections-A, B & C shall contain Thirteen (13) Questions, The candidate is required to attempt Ten (10) Questions out of Thirteen (13).  The Paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be of Three (03) Hours’ duration.

Chemistry Paper – III also a Descriptive Test Paper containing Twelve (12) Questions printed in TWO Sections; viz., Section-A and Section-B The candidate will need to attempt Ten (10) Questions out of a total of Twelve Questions.  This Paper carrying a maximum of 200 Marks shall be of Three (03) Hours’ duration.

All papers shall be in English Language only.

Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Exam., 2015 Interview Schedule:

The Union Public Service Commission prepares a combined Merit List of the candidates based on their performance and the Marks obtained by them prior to finally calling them for Interview and subsequently recommending for appointments based on their performance.  The successful candidates are issued appointments in the posts of (a) Geologist, Gr ‘A’; (b) Asstt. Geologists Gr.-I Gr ‘B’ & (a) Jr. Hydro-Geologist (Scientist B), Gr ‘A‘; (b) Assistant Hydro-Geologist, Gr ‘B’.

On the basis of result of the Written Part of Combined Geo-Scientist And Geologists’ Examination 2015 to be held by the Union Public Service Commission in May, 2015, the candidates declared qualified shall be called for Interview / Personality Test by the Commission during August / September 2015.
