The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released Notification dated February 08, 2014 to invite online Application Forms from the interested candidates for IES / ISS Examination 2014. The Date of Notification also considered to be the Date commenced for submitting respective Applications hence, 08.02.2014 will enable the aspiring candidates to submit their individual Applications on or by March 14, 2014. UPSC shall conduct the IES / ISS examination on May 24, 2014. The duration of Exam is 3 days.

Steps to apply Online
The candidates applying for ISS / IES Exam 2014 could also visit UPSC’s official website www.upsconline.nic.in for registration. However, the candidates have both options, i.e., Online and Offline.
As part of the online registration candidates are required to fill part I and Part II of the Application Form that is common for aspirants wishing to appear for competitive exam.
On completing Part- I of the Application process, the candidates are required to pay Application Fee of Rs 200 at the allied branches of State Bank of India. Fee payment can also be made through net banking facility or through debit card or credit card.
On successful completion or registration candidates are issued a registration number (RID) confirming registration. A copy of the application form must be taken and preserved for future reference.
Several thousands of candidates are expected to appear in IES / ISS Exam, 2014.

The Applicants applying for the above said IES / ISS Exam must have done their PG done in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics are eligible for applying for Indian Economic Services. The candidates applying for Indian Statistical Services must possess post qualification experience in subjects of Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics. .
UPSC IES/ISS 2014 Syllabus
IES / ISS Exam is categorized into two parts as followsl\:
Part I- Written Exam
Part II- Personal Interview
The written exam carries a maximum of 1000 marks with 200 marks for each section. The time alloted for each section is 3 hours each.
Candidates who clear the test would be called for a Personal Interview, which will carry a minimum of 200 marks.
