The Public Service Commission (UPSC) has not released its Test Booklet Series A, B, C & D Answer Key for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014. The Union Public Service Commission shall publish its fully solved Test Booklet Set wise Answer Key in A, B, C & D series of General Studies Paper-I & General Studies Paper-II.
We have always attached the highest priority to the Union Public Service Commission notified Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination scheduled to be held on the 24th of August 2014. We would inform the candidates through our website www.OnlineExamResult.in in regard to publishing of the fully solved Answer Key of GS Papers I & II. The candidates, with the view of obtaining quicker updates in regard to both Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 and IAS (Main), IPS and IFS (Main).
General Studies Paper I consisting 100 Multiple Choice Questions shall carry a maximum of 200. This GS Paper is Bilingual and shall be of 2 Hours (120 Minutes) duration for the candidates with normal eye sight.
General Studies Paper II comprising 80 Multiple Choice Questions shall carry a Maximum of 200 Marks. This time onwards 200 Marks minus the 20 marks allocated to English Comprehension Language Skill Test present 08 Multiple Choice Questions. The GS Paper shall be of TWO (02) Hours (120 Minutes) duration. The GS Paper II shall be Bilingual except for the English Passage Section containing 08 Questions
General Studies Paper II (X Series) containing 80 Multiple Choice Questions shall be of a Maximum of 200 Marks with an Allotted Examination 2 Hours 40 Minutes (160 Minutes) duration. This Paper shall be Bilingual except the English Passage Section containing 08 Questions carrying 20 Marks. The Visually Impaired Candidates were being allocated Two-Hours-Twenty Minutes until now.
The UPSC has issued its Notice on CSAT consisting of the General Studies – II in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination,2014, which reads as follows:
As per decision taken by the Government of India, certain amendments have been made vide an Extra-Ordinary Gazette Notification No. 202 dated 16.08.2014, in the Rules of Civil Services Examination, 2014 notified earlier on 31.5.2014.
The candidates appearing in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 24.08.2014 (Sunday), may please note the following changes made in the scheme of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 as per above mentioned amendments made by the Government:
Both Paper-I and Paper-II of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 to be conducted on 24.8.2014 will be of Two hours’ duration each.
The questions on English Language Comprehension Skills (of Class X level) contained in each set of Test Booklets of Paper-II are not to be attempted as these questions shall not be evaluated for gradation or merit. The candidates are, therefore, advised not to attempt questions on English Language Comprehension Skills for which Hindi translation has not been given in the respective Test Booklets of Paper-II.
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014, shall, thus, comprise two compulsory papers of which Paper-I will be of 200 marks and Paper II will be of 200 marks minus the maximum marks allocated to the questions on English Language Comprehension skills.
Final merit for qualifying the candidates for the Civil Services (Main) Written Examination will be drawn by using the aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I out of 200 marks and marks obtained in Paper-II out of 200 marks minus the maximum marks allocated to the questions on English Language Comprehension skills (i.e. those questions in Paper-II for which Hindi translation has not been given).
