UPSC SCRA 2014 Online Application Form SCRA Exam 2014:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites Online Applications from the candidates from all parts of India for appearing in SCRA Exam 2014.  UPSC conducts Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) Exam every year to recruit the young talented students in the Indian Railways.  UPSC released Notification dated October 5th, 2013 for SCRA Examination. The aspiring candidates must submit their respective Applications on or before November 4th, 2013.  UPSC would conduct the SCRA Exam 2014 on January 12, 2014.
To crack SCRA exam, the applicants must have sufficient knowledge about the Online Applications, Examination Date, Syllabus and Exam pattern.

The exam serves as an entry pass for those students aspiring for admission to Under Graduate programme in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Jamalpur.  It is one of the oldest and reputed technical institutes.
After the completion of four years Apprentice course, the candidates are recruited at higher position in Indian Railway, where they stand bright chances to grab the post of Group A Officers.
Age Limit
Candidates applying for SCRA Exam, 2014, should be  between 17 to 21 years.
Educational Qualification
Candidates having first/second class 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) are eligible to apply for SCRA.
The candidates are required to pay a sum of Rs. 100 either by depositing the money in cash at State Bank of India and its allied branches or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. (SC, ST,  female students and physically handicapped students are exempted from payment of fee).
Before filling the online application form, candidate should make sure that he/she has his/her latest photo and signature duly scanned in the jpg format.

The online application form comprises of two stages i.e. Part I and Part II. Candidates are required to complete the forms according to the instructions mentioned in the site through drop down menus.
SCRA’s Written exam that comprises Three papers is as follows;
Paper I shall contain English proficiency, General Knowledge and Psychological Test;
Paper II shall include Physics and Chemistry; and
Paper III is based on Mathematics.

Paper Pattern

The exam will have three papers as mentioned above. Each paper will be of 200 marks,  The papers in all the subjects will comprise Objective (Multiple Choice Answers) Type questions only. The Question Papers (Test Booklets) will be set in English only.

UPSC SCRA Preparation

SCRA is a difficult exam,  hence, it is too hard to crack.  Some of the useful tips to crack SCRA exam necessitates the aspiring candidates to have best study materials that cover the entire portion for the exam.  It would be even better if the candidates regain touch of the basics that have been taught at 10+2 level.  For General Knowledge / General Awareness and Current Affairs, it is advisable for the candidates to read newspapers, magazines and national journals. For Mathematics Paper, the candidates must practice problems from 12th textbooks.  For the General English Paper, the candidates can study the best English Grammar to practice and revise the basic rules of English Grammar, refer to world class dictionary to build  vocabulary,  Civil Services examination handbook.
