The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is to publish within Seven (07) Days the Fully solved Answers Key for the Biological Science, Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry, i.e., by the 13th of May 2015.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall announce on the 20th of June 2015 (20.06.2015).

We would display on our URL http://www.examcrack.in/  QUICKER REMINDER ON THE UPDATES FOR THE CANDIDATES WHO HAVE APPEARED in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2015 held on the 5th and 6th of May 2015.

The students declared successful on MERIT would be eligible to seek admission into the Medical / Dental Course as hereunder:

  • Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy
  • Medical / Dental / Pharmacy
  • Engineering / Tech. / Arch. / Pharmacy / Medical / Dental
  • Pharmacy only (other than Jadavpur University) 

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall award Two (02) Marks for a Correct Answer submitted in the Optical Markup Reader Answer Sheet (OMRAS).  The WB Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall deduct 0.25% of the Total Marks for each Wrong Response given by the candidates.

Admission Criteria:

For admission into MBBS Course at the Medical Colleges and BDS at Dental Colleges shall be through E-counseling / after publishing of the Merit drawn up on the basis of the performance of the Candidates at the WBJEEM -2015.

Seat Allotment for the candidates shall be based on the Rank Position of the Candidates in the Merit List of the WBJEEM – 2015 having regard to Candidates’ preferences for Medical and Dental Colleges subject to passing the qualifying examination satisfying the eligibility criteria.

We would bring QUICKER INFORMATION including the dates and time of the aforesaid Counseling Process as soon as the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board issues a Notification / Communication.

It is compulsory for the Selected candidates seeking admission into both the MBBS and BDS. Course to furnish Bonds giving the UNDERTAKING to serve the State Government anywhere in the State for a minimum period of Three (03) years after passing.

Selection Criteria:

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has determined different criteria for admission into

  • Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy
  • Medical / Dental / Pharmacy
  • Engineering / Tech. / Arch. / Pharmacy / Medical / Dental
  • Pharmacy only (other than Jadavpur University)

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall prepare Three Separate Merit Lists based on the candidates’ performance in the WBJEEM – 2015 for admission into (i) Engineering, (ii) Medical and (iii) Pharmacy (for Pharmacy Colleges other than Jadavpur University) for the candidates as hereunder:

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has

Category I:
a)    Only one option is correct, Correct Response will yield One (01) Mark.b)    For in Correct Response, 25% of Full Marks (¼) would be deductedAND.

c)    For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR Answer Sheet; the said answer will be treated as in Correct Response / Answer. Marks will be deducted on the basis of rule enumerated in Clause (b) above.

Category II:
a)    Only one option is correct, Correct Response will yield Two (02) Marks.b)    For in Correct Response, 25% of Full Marks (½) would be deductedc)    AND

d)    For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR Response Sheet; the said answer will be treated as in Correct Response / Answer. Marks will be deducted on the basis of rule enumerated in Clause (b) above.

Category III
a)    More than one option may be correct and marking of all correct options will yield Two (02) Marks.b)    For any combination of answers containing one or more in Correct Responses, Net mark awarded will be Zero (0)AND

c)    For partially Correct Response without any incorrect marking: Marks awarded = 2 X (no of Correct Responses) / (total no of correct options)

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall adopt the Methodology to determine the Ranking, as stated in its WBJEEM – 2015 Information Brochure as explained hereunder:

Ranking Methodology and Rules of Tie-Breaking:

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall prepare Three Separate Merit Lists based on the candidates’ performance in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2015 for admission into (i) Engineering, (ii) Medical and (iii) Pharmacy (for Pharmacy Colleges other than Jadavpur University).

The Merit List for successful candidates in the Engineering category prepared by the WBJEEB by listing them in the descending order of the Total Marks scored by them.

In case of there being ties, then such ties will be broken by sequentially applying the following set of rules:

  • Less Negative Marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together
  • Less Negative Marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
  • Less Negative Marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Mathematics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • More Positive Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • More Positive Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Mathematics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board shall prepare the Merit List for the successful candidates in the Medical Category by listing them in the descending order of the Total Marks scored by them.

In case of there being ties, then such ties will be broken by sequentially applying the following set of rules:

  • Less Negative Marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Biology and Chemistry taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Biology and Physics taken together
  • Less Negative Marks in Biology and Chemistry taken together
  • Less Negative Marks in Biology and Physics taken together
  • More Positive Marks in Biology for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • More Positive Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • More Positive Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Biology for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  • Less Negative Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions

For admission into Pharmacy Course at Jadavpur University, the Merit List of Engineering will be considered. For Pharmacy (other than Jadavpur University), a separate merit list will be prepared. The list will be prepared as per the descending order of the total marks scored in Physics & Chemistry by candidates from all types (‘E’, ‘M’, ‘C’).

However, In case of there being ties, then such ties will be broken by sequentially applying the following set of rules:

  1. Less Negative Marks in Physics & Chemistry
  2. More Positive Marks in Chemistry
  3. Less Negative Marks in Chemistry
  4. More Positive Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  5. Less Negative Marks in Chemistry for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  6. More Positive Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions
  7. Less Negative Marks in Physics for only the 02 Marks for Multiple Choice Questions

In generation of the Engineering, Medical and Pharmacy merit lists, if after applying the specified rules stated above there are still ties, the same will be broken by the Date Of Birth (DOB) of the concerned candidates; the older candidate will be given preference over the younger one.
