WBPSC MO Application Form 2013 Medical Officer 70 Vacancies: 

Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB), vide its Advertisement No. 10/2013, dated December 16, 2013 has issued an official Notification to invite Online Application Forms in a prescribed format from the Indian citizens and such other nationals declared eligible by the Government of India for recruitment to 70 posts of Medical Officers under different heads. Though the advertised Posts are temporary but are likely to become permanent.

Online Registration has already commenced w.e.f. December 16, 2013 and the Last Date for Online Registration is January 07, 2014.

Application Forms in the prescribed format is available for downloading.  Candidates in hundreds of thousand numbers are expected to submit their respective Online Applications all over India.

N.B.: Candidates should specifically state the category of specialty for which they want to be considered.

PAY: Rs. 15,600/- – 42,000/- (P.B. – 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/- plus E.S.I. allowance, non-practicing allowance and certain admissible allowances as per rules. Specialist’s pay is also admissible. Higher initial pay up to five increments may be allowed in exceptionally deserving cases.

Qualifications:

Essential: (A) Any of the Medical qualifications included in the First or Second Schedule or Part – II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal & (B) Recognized Post-Graduate qualifications in a particular specialty or equivalent. Post-Graduate qualifications :- for (i) MD/DMRD (Radiology), (ii) MD/DA (Anesthesiology), (iii) MD (Pathology), (iv) MS (Orthopedics), (v) MS (Surgery), (vi) MD (Medicine), (vii) MD/MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), (viii) MD/DCH (Pediatrics), (ix) MS/DO (Ophthalmology), (x) MS/DLO (E.N.T.), (xi) MD, DM (Cardiology), (xii) MD, DM (Haematology), (xiii) MD (Oncomedicine), (xiv) MS, M.Ch (Oncosurgery) & (xv) MD, DM (Neurology).

Desirable: Six months’ practical training as House Staff in any Government hospital or other recognized Institution.

Age Limit:

Not more than 40 years as on 1.1.2013 relaxable for otherwise well-qualified and experienced candidates.

N.B.:

I)        Selected candidates must be registered as Medical Practitioners in West Bengal prior to joining &

II)        Selected candidates may be liable, before completing 10 (Ten) years’ service or ordinarily before attaining the age of 45, to serve in any post or service connected with Defense of India for a minimum period of 4 (four) years including period of training, if any.

Fee:

Candidates must enclose with the application a Fee of Rs. 210/- (Rupees two hundred and ten) only by Indian Postal Order which MUST BE PURCHASED ON A DATE AFTER PUBLICATION OF THIS ADVERTISEMENT AND ON OR BEFORE THE CLOSSING DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. Money Order, Cheque, Bank Draft, Cash etc. will not be accepted. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. Candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. of West Bengal and Persons with Disabilities specified under Persons with Disabilities Rules, 1999 are not required to pay any fee. The application of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with the attested copy of S.C./S.T./Persons with Disabilities certificate. Such exemption of fees is, however, not applicable to any O.B.C. (category ‘A’ or ‘B’) candidate. No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination.

Candidates must read the detailed Information / Instructions issued by Public Service Commission, West Bengal (available on the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission) before applying for the desired post.

The prescribed “essential qualifications” are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle applicants to be called in for the interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it is not convenient or possible for the Commission to interview all the applicants the Commission may restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualifications in the relevant subjects/ higher standard of marks/grade obtained in the essential qualifications or experience in relevant field higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or on the basis of a Screening Test / Written Test. In case of Screening Test / Written Test, Candidates suffering from Blindness or Low Vision will be allowed the help of a Scribe, if required.

In cases of Preliminary Examination / Screening Tests, an identical copy of the photograph will be required for pasting on the Attendance Sheet to be sent by this office along with the Admit Card.
