The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) had issued an official Notification to invite Online and Offline Applications from the eligible candidates all over West Bengal. There are a total number of 3050 vacancies to be allocated in various Departments under West Bengal State Government after the appointments of the candidates in both Written and Typing Tests.

Hundreds of Thousand candidates all over the State are estimated to be appearing in the LDC / LDA Written Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission.

The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission would publish the LDC / LDA, December 2013 Answer Keys after the conduct of the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Written Examination on December 15, 2013.

The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission has already dispatched WBSSC Hall Examination Tickets to the candidates. However, the candidates can also download their respective duplicate Call Letters from the official web portal of West Bengal Staff Selection Commission in case of non-receipt of their Hall Examination Tickets.

The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission will organize the Written Examination in two sessions on December 15, 2013.

Scheme & Syllabus:

 Scheme of Examination: The Examination shall consist of two parts, i.e., Part-I and Part-II and shall be held on a single day. The Part-I will carry 100 marks having 100 questions of 1 (One) mark each, comprising Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions on English, General Studies and Arithmetic as follows:

 Syllabus for Examination

 The syllabus for Examination shall be as be as detailed below:-

 Part – I

English

Fundamentals of the English, such as, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and their correct usages, etc.

General Studies:

Matters of Everyday Observation including Everyday Science, Current Events and problems with special reference to India, Elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography.

Arithmetic:  

Divisibility, Fractions, Decimals, Recurring Decimals, Simplification, H.C.F., L.C.M., Partnership, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, Area of Rectangle & Squares.

 Part –II

Group – A: English  

a)     Drafting of a report in English from points or materials supplied;

b)    Condensing of a prose passage (summary or précis);

c)     Translation from Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali, as the case may be, into English.

Group – B: Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali:

a)     Drafting of a Report from points or materials supplied;

b)    Condensing of a prose passage (summary or précis);

c)     Translation from English into Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepali, as the case may be.

Note -I

The Candidates who will take Hindi or Urdu or Nepali, as the case may be, in lieu of Bengali of the Group – B of Part-II Examination shall, before confirmation, have to pass a Departmental Examination in Bengali during the period of probation.

Note-II

The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission shall assess the Answer scripts on Part-I (First). The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission shall evaluate the Answer scripts of Part-II in respect of only those candidates who will obtain the qualifying marks as would be fixed by the commission in Part-I and the Final Merit Lists shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the two parts.

Note –III

The standard of Examination shall be similar to that of Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

The candidates, declared successful in the Written Test, will be summoned for appearing in Typing Test before being declared successful and ready for posting in various District wise Departments all over the West Bengal State.

Acquisition of elementary knowledge in Computer Operation with the ability of typing on Computer at the speed of 35 W.P.M. ( English) and 25 W.P.M. (Bengali) from a reputed organization for a period not less than 6 (six) months.

*The VH candidates who require the services of Scribe may send the scanned copy of the above format duly filled and signed with passport color photograph of the scribe to the email id – adm.ssc-wb@nic.in. Last date of submission: 09/12/2013. Admit Cards for the scribes will be sent by e mail to the Candidates by 13/12/2013, i.e., to day.
